Leading Change in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP)

Programme structure

• > Two day orientation residential (in person), 8-9 October 2024
• > Half day online workshop, 13 November 2024 (am)
• > Half day online workshop, 10 December 2024 (am)
• > Mid programme event (in person), 22 January 2025
• > End of programme event (in person), 5 March 2025

Location

All in-person sessions will take place at University of Warwick, Scarman, Scarman Rd, Coventry CV4 7SH

This programme suits those with strategic SEND/AP responsibility within their local area, including:

• > Local authority strategic leads
• > Social care leads
• > Integrated care board leaders
• > Commissioners
• > Parent/carer forum leads
• > Young people forum leads
• > Multi academy trust or school cluster SEND/AP leads

We particularly welcome applications from several colleagues in an area who would be able to work on a leadership challenge together.

Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to:

• > Continuous professional development.
• > Deepening their understanding of leadership.
• > The willingness to share programme learnings with colleagues.

We plan to recruit up to 30 participants to this cohort.

Applicants will need to demonstrate how they meet the eligibility criteria by filling in this application form.

The application and assessment process comprises:

• > Completion and submission of the application process and sponsor nomination.
• > Sifting and benchmarking of application forms.
• > Feedback to candidates on request.

Sponsors

Potential participants will be expected to have their application supported by a line manager (ideally at assistant director or director level).

By sponsoring an application managers will commit to supporting their colleague actively throughout the duration of the programme.
