Meilys Smith, Associate
Meilys is the founder and owner of Cwmni Melin cyf, established in 2025 to work with people who want to improve people's experience of public services
Prior to this, Meilys spent 16 years in senior leadership roles within adults and children social services and was involved in ambitious integration programmes between health and social care. During that time, she developed an interest in systems thinking methodologies which she applied to challenge significant parts of the social care and health system. This led to changes in the ways public sector workers, community groups and commissioned services worked together and created positive outcomes for people needing care and support.
Meilys believes in the power of people experimenting and learning together at community level, as a catalyst to influence policy and practice nationally.
She lives in North Wales and cherishes the fact that she lives between the sea and the mountains, in an area where she and her family can live through the medium of Welsh, her first language.
