Change that leads to better lives

Helen Hodgson, Associate

Helen Hodgson

Helen started her career working with teenagers in care and draws on her own experiences of childhood and adolescence which drive her passion for improving life outcomes for children and young people.

With a background in social care, she has over 40 years’ experience of working in local authorities advocating for children and families both as a social worker and as a strategic and operational manager. Having also worked in education and health and across children’s and adult services, Helen works restoratively to break down silos to implement integrated approaches to meet need.

Helen has a strong value base in co-production and has effectively engaged a range of stakeholders in redesign programmes. She has led on the implementation of early years and childcare strategies and more recently the redesign of Post 16 SEND transition pathways.

Helen values the principles of NDTi and was encouraged to work with them as an Associate, having undertaken the SEND Leadership Programme and worked alongside NDTi colleagues in the development of a PFA approach in Stockport.

Helen is a member of the Stockport SEND Champions Network and previously chaired the Greater Manchester Autism Transition Group.
