Reviewing Employment Support Services

We know from national data that the employment levels of people with learning disabilities, with mental health conditions and young people with SEND entering adulthood are unacceptably low.

National evidence also shows that a major reason for this is that money is being spent on models of employment support that simply do not work. (See our page on ‘Employment support for disabled people - the evidence’, for more information)

NDTi has taken the national evidence, and our knowledge about best practice, to develop a ‘quick audit’ process that we can offer to local authorities and NHS partners. Through an intensive two and a half day process, we can understand what each local area needs to change and do differently if employment outcomes, and the cost effective use of resources, are to reflect the best across the country.

For an indicative cost of around £7,500 plus VAT, our expert team will consider:

  • Whether evidence based approaches are being used
  • The methodologies used by and outcomes from employment support providers
  • The experiences of people using the services
  • Value for money in outcomes and money invested

Each review is tailored to local needs and carried out by a small team drawn from NDTi staff and associates who have direct experience of planning, commissioning and providing employment supports.
