Module 2
Leading Edge Practice

Day One
Understanding what good participation looks like, the family and people’s voice movements and how to work in partnership, including consideration of:

  • Different types of advocacy and their potential roles in the system
  • Quality and outcomes – what makes for good and effective partnership working with families, children and young people
  • Family motivation and understanding and working with different perspectives
  • From child to young person and the developing voice of young people

Day Two
Expert sessions – participants choose from an expert session that will consider the specific policy, delivery and thus leadership implications of the SEND reforms and related services. Topics will include (plus topics proposed by participants):

  • Personalisation and personal budgets
  • Preparing for Adulthood
  • Achieving inclusion, in schools and in communities
  • Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Employment
  • Strategies for quality assurance
  • Services for people with the most complex needs
