Non Violent Communication Training Day (Oxford)

Thursday 7th June 2018, 10.30 am - 4 pm

This course is specifically for Experts by Experience, Clinical Advisors and Commissioners involved in Care and Treatment Reviews.

Non Violent Communication (NVC) developed by Marshell B. Rosenberg Ph.D, is a method of interacting that facilitates a way of communicating that is needed to exchange information and resolve differences peacefully.

NVC focuses on shared human values and needs, and encourages the use of a communication style that has the potential to develop goodwill and avoid language and behaviour that may contribute to resentment and or low self esteem.

The day will include experiential learning and signposting to helpful resources to improve participants' communication style. The aim of the day is that participants will leave the training day with an appreciation of the importance of developing NVC.

To introduce the day, Roger Banks will be giving a presentation on, “How to get the best from a Consultant in a CTR”. Roger Banks is Senior Psychiatry Lead at NHS England.
