Change that leads to better lives

National Supported Internships Day

The first ever National Supported Internship Day will take place on Monday 27 March 2023. The campaign is run by Internships Work partner DFN Project SEARCH.

Internships Work started in 2022 as a collaboration between the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi), the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE) and DFN Project SEARCH. The programme is funded by the Department for Education. Together, our aim is to double the number of supported internships in England to 4500 per year by March 2025.

That’s why this national day has be set up to challenge the everyday misconceptions and pre-set work cultures that all too often unfairly shape the lives of young adults with a learning disability and autistic people.

We want people to understand the huge impact a supported internship can have on the hosting organisations and wider society as well as the individuals that take part.

We're calling on everyone, whether you're linked to the business, education or health sectors, local authorities, national government or anywhere else, to come together on 27 March.
