Kate Mercer reflects on the need for advocates to become part of a person’s team and the often missing link that connects a person’s ‘allies’ with their advocate.

Can we be more effective when we work in partnership? Through developing relationships and joining a person’s ‘team’ maybe we can expect better connections and better outcomes for a person and enable them to have a better life? She gives us some helpful tips as she discusses this in the context of non-instructed advocacy and those seeking advocacy in mental health settings.
