Why inclusion, voice and system change matter

NDTi Board member Scott Watkin BEM shares his perspective on our new three-year strategy and the change he wants to see.

Our new strategy for 2026–2029 is built around three connected ideas:

"Inclusion, voice and system change."

At a time when rights are under pressure, services are stretched and inequality is growing, we believe it is more important than ever to stand alongside people, listen to lived experience and challenge systems that are not working.

In this #NDTiVoices film, our board member Scott Watkin BEM reflects on our new strategy, what its ambitions mean to him and why change matters.

Over the next three years, our work will focus on four areas:

  • driving equal life opportunities,
  • amplifying people’s voice,
  • rethinking systems and cultures, and
  • being a great NDTi.

Across these areas is a commitment to working alongside people with lived experience, using evidence and learning, and working with others to create practical, lasting change.

Scott’s film is part of#NDTiVoices, where we hear different perspectives from across NDTi and the people connected to our work about the issues, ideas and experiences that shape what we do.
