We are excited to be sharing a range of documents that highlight the key insights, lessons and stories from the Rural Wisdom evaluation as the project comes to the end of its first stage in the five rural communities in Wales (Milford Haven, Leeswood & Pontblyddyn) and Scotland (Eaglesham, Highland Perthshire, North Angus).
The insights document builds on the learning from the Year 1 evaluation, to further explore how older people are leading change, having a voice and contributing to their community. We have also been finding out about the key factors that are important for sustaining activities and initiatives in these rural communities.
We are also sharing five case studies, one from each of the five communities, to give practical examples of what has been happening through Rural Wisdom, the impact it has had and how it is being sustained.
Finally, whilst there are some great developments and achievements in the communities themselves, Rural Wisdom has also working through the partners Outside the Box and Volunteering Matters Cymru at a national level. The two briefing documents explain how Rural Wisdom is helping to influence a range of policy issues to support older people to continue to live in rural communities they know.
