Our strategy 2026-2029

Inclusion, voice, system change. Our three year strategy to create fairer opportunities and real choice for everyone.

Why this matters

We are living through a time when rights are under pressure, services are stretched, and inequality is growing.

Too often:
• People do not have real choices in their lives.
• People are not listened to or taken seriously.
• Systems make it harder, not easier, to get support.

We believe things can be different. When people’s voices are heard and their rights are respected, better solutions follow.

What we want to change

Inclusion is being pushed backwards

Fewer people have the choice, independence and sense of belonging that inclusion should bring. We will work with partners to make inclusion a priority again.

People are often not being listened to

Too many decisions are made without people’s experiences shaping them. We will support ways of working that make sure people are heard, valued and able to influence decisions.

Too often systems are designed in ways that exclude people

Many systems don’t work for people, especially those facing multiple disadvantage. We will help redesign systems so they are fairer, rights-based and built around people’s lives.

Across all our work, we will actively challenge racism, discrimination and all forms of hate, recognising that many people face more than one barrier at the same time.

How we will make a difference

We will focus our work in four areas:

Driving equal life opportunities

Helping people have real choice and control over their lives. That means where they live, how they spend their time, and how they take part in work and community life.

Amplifying people's voice
2

Making sure people are listened to, taken seriously, and able to influence decisions that affect them.

Rethinking systems and cultures
3

Working with organisations, communities and leaders to redesign systems so they support people’s rights, reflect lived experience, and deliver better outcomes.

Being a great NDTi
4

Living our values in everything we do. That means building a diverse, inclusive organisation and working in partnership with others to create change.

Our approach

We will:

  • Work alongside people with lived experience.
  • Use evidence to show what works.
  • Share learning and influence change.
  • Focus on where we can have the greatest impact.

Our commitment

We are not neutral.

We will stand with people, challenge unfair systems, and work with partners to create practical, lasting change.

Together, we can build communities, services and systems where everyone can thrive.
