My experience on supported internships
It was amazing experience as I on the project search programme and I first heard about through my Senco at Wakefield College and invite open evening to explain about programme within Wakefield. They explained about next and Pinderfields hospital, and it was really good informative event. They explained about different programme they have to offer such as next hospital. I went through process on sign up to programme such dbs. etc and they are really helpful.
Then you must go through 3 different rotations on the programme so to beginning with I did radiology patient portering throughout 2022 Sep to 2022 Dec I work with take patients to the Xray, Oxygen bottles and much more such as collect files for patients and also took patients down in the wheelchairs. I then went sterile services which was take surgical tools to different departments within in the hospital that was Jan 23 to Feb 23 and then Facilities Portering within portering I took bins on to different departments and take sharp bins I even took sharp bins down to warehouse area for recycling plus I did linen like put in place on the wards. My last placements was that moved Barnsley for third rotations I start May 2023 to present, and I did take meals on wards, collect sharp bins, rubbish runs and dirty linen we also do the clean laundry on to wards.
Throughout my experience on project search I was supported throughout programme we learn the curriculum session within project search that was related to America were project search was based but learn all basis such as like time keeping and the rules of the workplace and so such much more I definitely recommend to parents and carers as well there are supported throughout the programme and at the end of project search you not guarantee a job you have to prove myself to employer with organisation to show capable and willing to job with carry on volunteering at Kendray to I got a job.
