Change that leads to better lives

NHS Sounding Board and Themed Conversations

NHS England and NHS Improvement’s (NHSEI) Sounding Board, hosted by NDTi, is a group of 25 people over the age of 50 who provide valuable ‘critical friend’ input into NHSEI’s work.

NDTi will be hosting regular Themed Conversations where those aged 50+ will be invited to share their thoughts on some of the bigger questions of community and civic life

Applications are now open (see below or read the Sounding Board Flyer to learn more)

NHS Sounding Board

There are still 5 places available on the Sounding Board, and applications are open for anyone aged 50+ living in England. We welcome anyone over the age of 50 and would be particularly pleased to get applications from people with diverse life experiences, including making sure the group has greater male ethnic diversity.

This is a National Sounding Board, and we actively encourage a wide cross section of people, fully reflecting the ethnic, gender, socioeconomic and health diversity of the people living in our communities to get involved. We want to build a Sounding Board that encompasses a broad range of life experiences.

Please make sure you have read the information about the Sounding Board before completing your expression of interest (Job Description under 'Related Downloads')

Please get in touch with Office@NDTi.org.uk if you want to apply, require any support during your application or would prefer to send in a video response to the posed questions.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are very interested in what you, as an individual can bring to the Sounding Board.

Ageing does not treat everyone equally; where you live or were born, your ethnicity, the jobs you do, your gender and wellbeing all impact on how you age and we would like to see applications from people whose life experiences differ. It is your lived experience that matters as well as any skills you have gained through work, volunteering or from other aspects of your life.

Themed Conversations

As well as the more formal Sounding Board meetings that will take place online and hopefully face-to-face, we will be hosting several Themed Conversations, until March 2023, where a greater number of people will be able to get involved in a variety of ways.

We will be supporting people to share their thoughts on proposed changes to health and care services as well as wider questions of community and civic life that affect health policy and implementation.

If you are interested in health services and their delivery or have relevant lived experience and perspectives rooted in wider consideration of health and care you might want to get involved.

Pop these dates in your diary. The themes have yet to be agreed but if you register your interest in taking part we will send you updates and invitations to join in.
