Qrios

Discover how Qrios helps you evidence the real human and economic value of preventative, community-based work. So you can protect and grow investment where it makes the biggest difference.

Qrios (pronounced ‘curious’) is a simple, light touch, but powerful insight system.

older people in a community centre. They are laughing and chatting.

Turn strengths based conversations and community support into robust, system level evidence.

Qrios provides a consistent and credible way to understand:

  • The nature of prevention and community activity.
  • Impact on wellbeing and unmet need.
  • Contribution to system sustainability and value for money.

This enables better, more confident decision making at place and system level.

Designed with commissioners, providers and communities, Qrios bridges the long standing gap between preventative activity and measurable impact.

Why Qrios?

Across public services, investment in prevention, early help and community support is growing.

But too often, this work:

  • Cannot be clearly evidenced.
  • Is undervalued in decision making.
  • Remains vulnerable when resources are under pressure.

Qrios changes that.

It enables you to:

  • Demonstrate how prevention improves wellbeing.
  • Show how improved wellbeing supports independence and reduces demand.
  • Identify unmet and emerging need in real time.
  • Evidence the economic value of early support.
  • Strengthen commissioning with credible, shared data.
  • Build a system wide picture of impact across partners.

All without adding burden for staff or people.

Qrios doesn’t just describe good work.

It proves its value.

What people say about Qrios

What Qrios does

Qrios is a secure, web-based system that captures anonymised insight at the point of contact. It records:

What matters

What matters to the person (their issue or challenge)

Support and action

What support or action takes place.

Experience

Feedback on experience.

Wellbeing

Self reported wellbeing before and after support.

The system is designed to enhance strengths based conversations, not replace them, capturing insight as a natural part of good practice.

Insight that drives better decisions

Qrios brings together a clear understanding of wellbeing with practical insight you can act on.

It supports better commissioning across place and system, works flexibly across partners, and is simple and light-touch to use, so evidence of prevention quickly turns into confident action.

Understanding wellbeing

We know that:

  • Prevention improves wellbeing.
  • Wellbeing underpins health, resilience and independence.
  • This reduces or delays the need for formal support.

Qrios brings this to life through a robust framework including:

  • NDTi Wellbeing Framework
  • ONS4 wellbeing measures
  • WELLBY (Wellbeing-Adjusted Life Years) for economic valuation

It also captures key dimensions often missing from traditional data:

  • Connection
  • Control
  • Coping
  • Safety
  • Support

These reflect the real conditions that enable people to live well. For example, relationships, autonomy, resilience and feeling safe.

Together, they help you understand not just what is changing, but why it matters.

Insight you can act on

Qrios provides a live, interactive dashboard that tells you:

  • What’s happening across your system.
  • Where support is being accessed.
  • The issues people are facing.
  • How wellbeing changes over time.
  • Variation by neighbourhood and population group.

This enables commissioners to:

  • Identify gaps and inequalities.
  • Target resources more effectively.
  • Track impact against strategic priorities.
  • Strengthen place based and population health approaches.

Supporting better commissioning

Qrios gives you the evidence needed to make prevention visible, credible and investable.

It supports:

  • Outcomes-based and preventative commissioning
  • Cross-sector partnership working
  • Understanding return on investment through wellbeing data
  • Stronger conversations with finance, transformation and elected members

Flexible and cross system

Qrios works across organisations and sectors. It can be used:

  • By a single organisation or across a whole place.
  • Across local authorities, VCSE, health, housing and beyond.
  • Across prevention, early help, mental health, social care and community support.

It can be completed:

  • During a conversation
  • By an individual
  • On behalf of someone else

Making it ideal for integrated, place-based systems.

Qrios is also flexible for areas to add in key questions of their own depending on local needs and priorities.

Simple to use

Qrios ensures consistency without burden:

  • Completed in minutes.
  • Mobile, tablet and desktop friendly.
  • No personal identifiers collected.
  • Paper options available.
