This project aims to break down those barriers by listening directly to young people, understanding their experiences, and coproducing a range of practical resources.

Universal design
We don’t just fix things later. We design for accessibility from the start, ensuring information
is clear, visual, and easy to understand for everyone.

We are training 150+ educators across the UK, giving them the confidence and practical
tools to teach democracy in an inclusive way.

We aim to reduce anxiety about voting through clear teaching of each part of the voting process. For example:

- Key concepts: Explaining democracy through British Sign Language and visual tools
For educators
We offer a range of lesson plans and training to build professional confidence.
This inclusive way of teaching covers:
- Democracy for all: Identifying and overcoming specific barriers faced by SEND learners.
- How to have the conversation: Facilitating impartial political discussions in SEND settings.
- Creating accessible resources: Hands-on workshops for adapting existing school materials.
