Developing new small support organisations for people with dementia in Angus, Scotland 2026-2027
Applications are now open. Click on this link to open the application page.
The programme of work, co-designed by the five Meeting Centres in Angus, local authority and health partners and people and families with lived experience will start out by thinking through what differences there are to past work on small supports. Based on this a plan of work will be developed which will set out to,
- Develop over 2 years 2-3 new small support social enterprise organisations in Angus.
- Each organisation will by the end of the project be supporting between 5 and 10 people each with a view to increasing this to 20-30 within 5-6 years.
- Produce an evidence base shaped by ‘what success looks like for people and partners’, evidence impact on well-being measures, and identifies the wider economic value of this approach.
The uniting aim is to develop a viable and efficient person-centred alternative to residential care, enabling families to make a choice about future support.
We are grateful to the Tayside NHS Charitable Foundation for providing funding for this ground-breaking work.
