Shona is a senior social care professional and qualified social worker with over 40 years’ experience in adult social care. She has spent 18 years working at assistant director level in two local authorities, where she led service delivery and supported the modernisation of social care services.
Alongside her local authority roles, Shona has chaired ADASS Networks in the Yorkshire and Humber region and served as an ADASS trustee. She has also led the development and delivery of integrated intermediate care services. In her most recent role, she worked closely with NDTi to develop strengths and asset based approaches to social work and social care.
Shona is passionate about social justice and brings a strong commitment to safeguarding adults, legal literacy in practice, and strengths and asset based ways of working that support better outcomes for people and communities.
