Kate has over 30 years’ experience improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND. She has worked as a teacher, special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), advisory teacher, local authority school improvement officer, and interim education development officer for NASEN, where she helped deliver national training on the SEND Code of Practice.
Now an associate lecturer at the University of Northampton and independent consultant, Kate supports schools, trusts, universities and local authorities through consultancy, training, reviews and guidance. She teaches on the SENCO NPQ, facilitates SENCO networks across the Midlands, and has served as a school governor.
Her collaborative approach empowers leaders and staff to make sustainable improvements in inclusion and SEND provision.
