Valuing People - What Now?
As national and local structures change, the Valuing People Now strategy remains a priority for continuing the journey to achieving choice, rights and independence with people with learning disabilities.
We hear people’s concerns about how the likely loss of the national and regional Valuing People support structures and the impact of public spending cuts might mean we lose focus on delivering the Valuing People aims of better lives for people. We would like to hear what you think should be done about this. Please join the discussion on our Facebook page regarding what should happen with the Valuing People Now policy.
Rob Greig (NDTi Chief Executive and the former National Director for Learning Disabilities) has written a discussion paper to help start this conversation. You can find it (and an easy read version) by clicking on the links in the right hand column. Please read it and then post your thoughts on this discussion board about what you think should happen with the Valuing People policy and its delivery.
NDTi are also organising a one-day conference on 31st March 2011 in London. See Related Downloads for more information.
