Change that leads to better lives

National Development Team for Inclusion and My Life My Choice to work more closely together

The National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) and My Life My Choice have decided to form a partnership to help them to do better at improving lives for people with Learning Disabilities.

The two organisations have worked together for several years on conferences, research and training. NDTi and My Life My Choice will now support each other to come up with new thinking to inform policy and decision making as well.

Pam Bebbington, co-chair at My Life My Choice said:

“We think that NDTi do really good work. We have similar aims and values and think we can achieve great things together. I love working with them because I think they’re really friendly and they understand why self-advocacy is so important. It’s nice to meet other groups and hear about what they’re doing, so we can learn from each other. We’re really excited about working more with them.”

Sue Turner, Learning Disability Lead at NDTi said:

“Self advocates are absolutely essential to the work we do. My Life My Choice have been fantastic for us to work with and had a major impact on how we do things. I am really looking forward to working more closely with them. Together we really can make a difference.”

Both My Life My Choice and NDTi continue to be funded and operated as independent organisations.

My Life My Choice is a self-advocacy organisation run by and for people with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire. We raise the self-esteem and quality of life for people with learning disabilities by providing volunteering, training, employment and social opportunities for our members. Our projects include monthly groups, Travel Buddy, Stingray Nightclub, Sting Radio, and campaigning, training and consultation work.

The National Development Team for Inclusion is a not for profit organisation working to enable people at risk of exclusion, due to age or disability, to live the life they choose. We inspire and support policymakers, services and communities to make change happen - change that leads to better lives.
