Improving Health Outcomes for People with Learning Disabilities in the South West - 13th November 2019

Date:  Wednesday 13th September 2019

Time:  10 am - 3.30 pm

Venue: Taunton Rugby Football Club Conference Centre, Hyde Lane Taunton, Somerset, TA2 8BU

This is the fifth health network meeting for the South West. The overall aim of the health network is to reduce the health inequalities that people with learning disabilities experience in the South West. This is a very broad remit so our particular focus is on:

  • The health elements regarding people with learning disabilities in the NHS England 10-year plan
  • The findings and recommendations of the LeDeR project

At this meeting we will be returning to the subject of workforce. George Matuska from Health Education England will be coming and will discuss the findings from the consultation into mandatory learning disability awareness training, as well as a general update that will pick up on some of the themes from our mapping exercise. We will also have family representation at the meeting and will talk about working with families.

We would like to hear from you if there are topics you would like to cover during the meeting.
