CLS Hero: Andrew Dunston-Brady

Andrew Dunston Brady has embraced strength based practice throughout his work and always strives to promote independence, control and self esteem with those he works with.

CLS Hero: Lee Calvert

Cheshire West & Chester are the most recent area to join the network and are still in the very early stages of getting going. He is a reluctant but highly deserving Hero demonstrating the preparation that is possible, behind the scenes and on top of an already highly busy and pressured ‘day job’.

CLS Heroes: Hazel and Alica

Hazel and Alica have been nominated for their amazing work with the Denbighshire Community Support Services Volunteers Project. It was set up at pace at the height of Covid 19.  They have recruited and supported over 50 volunteers and careful matching with citizens has led to some fantastic outcomes for all. This award is for them and all the amazing Volunteers involved.

Derby Direct, LAC and Community Action Derby have worked closely together to develop the 'Community Hub'. This was initially a quick pandemic response in relation to shielding but has developed into much more

Leigh is the person in Hartlepool who champions CLS more than anyone else.  She thinks creatively, develops innovative solutions and works incredibly hard with VCS partners to make change happen and improve outcomes for people

Michelle's passion and commitment to really engaging the community and services in doing things differently has been inspiring and she is going to be an asset in how we take things forward in Salford.

Despite incredible pressures through the pandemic, Rachael has led the screening officers through good conversations and really pushed the principals of CLS.

Over the last ten years Mary has given her time and expertise to working with the council to help embed strengths based practice and improve the experience of people who need support.

This team began their CLS Journey during the 2nd Lockdown in January 2021 virtually, continuing the virtual journey until restrictions lifted. The innovation team remained, passionate, innovative, dedicated, respectful of partner views and opinions, flexible and most importantly

Billie has proactively sought new opportunities to connect with individuals and communities.  This has included liaising with Morrison's superstore and getting a weekly drop in slot and being able to place leaflets in food boxes that go out to

CLS Heroes: Jackie and Chris

The work of Jackie and Chris has been exceptional.  They are able to signpost but also provide information and advice.  They are the face of the community and have been able to build trusting relationships with people so that they are able to feel confident

CLS Hero: Bob Edwards

Bob has recently joined Thurrock's Team as a Social Worker.  Despite lock down, he has proactively sought opportunities to engage with the community and has found a number of places where drop in sessions can be held.

CLS Hero: Alison and Pip

Both Pip and Alison have and continue to provide support, insight and commitment to working together to shape the future under the Living Well work in Warrington.

CLS Hero: Vic Cole

Vic was seconded to lead the 'end to end' system review with the aim of delivering whole system change and the adoption of the CLS principles and practice.

CLS Heroes: Chichester Community Social Work Team   and the Communities Team

These teams working in partnership have provided excellent support for many people and one example, where they acted as ‘a team around’ the person, is used to demonstrate this.
