NDTi first registered as an Industrial and Provident Society in 1992. The organisation became a Registered Society in 2014 and is governed by the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.
As a membership body, NDTi’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the sovereign body. A Board of Trustees, who take a strategic overview of NDTi’s work as well as the usual financial and probity responsibilities is elected at the AGM.
Andrew Cozens currently chairs the Board and all our members have significant national roles and profiles. Our governing document, the NDTi Rules, states that our Board must include at least three people who are ‘experts by experience’ i.e. disabled or older people or family carers.
Day to day management responsibility rests with Executive Directors Bill Love and Sally Richens. They work in partnership to offer leadership to the organisation, working closely and collaboratively with strategic colleagues. They are supported by a leadership team of senior staff who lead on particular themes of work.
NDTi is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with offices in Bath, Manchester and Glasgow.
