Delivering Social Inclusion in Practice

ONE DAY WORKSHOP

BIRMINGHAM, JULY 17th

This one day workshop has been developed to help organisations or groups think about inclusion - to understand, promote, support and evidence it. This workshop will offer participants the opportunity to hear about some of the useful tools and resources that we have developed including:

  • The Inclusion Web (further information on the right)
  • The Social Inclusion Training Pack (further information on the right)
  • The Inclusion Traffic light system approach

The main aim of the day is for participants to focus on the specific things that need to be done to support people to be more included in local communities beyond services or paid support. This workshop is generic and applicable to any organisation or group working with or supporting excluded people.

Through presentation, practical exercises and group work the workshop on July 17th will:

  •   Provide clarity and understanding about  social inclusion values and principles
  •   Promote person centred approaches
  •   Promote natural supports and relationships
  •   Explore different approaches and best practice
  •   Identify challenges and opportunities
  •   Consider  and try out new strategies and ways of working
  •   Build Inclusion Plans
  •   Access and try out tools that help measure and evidence real inclusion
  •   Challenge traditional approaches
  •   Share experiences and ideas
  •   Network with others
